Canónigo Films is a film production company established in Barcelona, Spain, who set out on their journey back in March 2003.
The founders of Canónigo had the vision of building a new concept, making high-quality films, working with potential and making the most of their opportunities, within the tough-to-crack Spanish audiovisual market.
In collaboration with a number of young professionals in the field, Canónigo Films successfully came into being and started, almost simultaneously, to work on the filming of two projects within their first year: “ROJO SANGRE” (BLOOD RED), a fantasy film, starring Paul Naschy and directed by Christian Molina, and the comedy “HOT MILK” (HOT MILK), directed by Ricardo Bofill. To date, Canónigo has produced a further 4 feature-length films, “EL TRIUNFO” (TRIUMPH), “CHUECATOWN” (CHUECATOWN), “ESTACIÓ DE L’OBLIT” (STATION OF THE FORGOTTEN) and “DIARIO DE UNA NINFÓMANA” (DIARY OF A SEX-ADDICT). The latter, again directed by Christian Molina, was adapted from Valérie Tasso’s autobiography by Cuca Canals, and was a huge international sales success.
